Starting with Nothing

I am starting the new year with zero. I literally have nothing in my wallet. I gave my last money away, some lose change that will be more useful to other people. They say that it is bad luck to start the new year without money in your pocket. I don't care. Don't believe in luck anyway. I just want to welcome the new year and the new decade with nothing the same way that a baby enters the world.

Let's just say that 2009 was not a banner year for me in terms of finances. It has nothing to do with the global financial crisis. It is just plain old failure. It was a year filled with unfinished projects, unfulfilled resolutions, unpaid bills, debt, sickness and excuses. Plenty of excuses!

YES IWAS A FAILURE IN 2009. I AM ZERO.

But I don't intend things to stay this way. I am planning to turn my life around in 2010. For the coming year, I will make improvements in the different areas of my life. In 2010, I plan to be richer, happier and, yes, thinner. I will use all available resources. I will read books and ebooks, take courses, listen to audios, follow programs, attend seminars, talk to people, meditate, pray.

Most importantly, I WILL TAKE ACTION.

In 2010, I will start a new business, exercise, eat healthy, save, invest, learn new skills, spend more time with my loved ones, reduce stress and practice my faith better and I will record everything in this blog. EVERYTHING. Victories and defeats, successes and failures, highs and lows.

MY GOAL: to be a better person by December 31, 2010 - to have a significant amount of savings, to have a thriving business and writing career, to have new sets of skills, to be more spiritual, to be healthier, to be a better boyfriend, son, friend.

TO BE A HERO IN 2010.

So I am welcoming the new year with no money, no job, no new stuff but filled with hope for the new year. Tomorrow will be the start of the most important journey I will ever take.

Care to join me?
